Tractor Pulling Sport

Nowadays there is a sport that involves the usage of a tractor pulling. Tractor pulling also known as power pulling is a famous motor sport competition. Power pulling is very popular on the United States, Brazil, Australia and Netherlands. This motor sport requires modified tractors to pull a sled (sledge) along a track of 100 meters. The winner of the race will be the tractor that pulls the sled farthest. Power pulling is consider and known as the most powerful motor sport around the world because of the modification of the multi engined tractors pullers.

In the United States the history of this sport rejects back to the 1860s when farming machines were pulled by horse. At that time farmers would boast the strength of their horses. They claimed that their horse could pull large loads such as a fully loaded wagon or cart. During those years farmers used to challenge each other to prove who had the strongest animal. This event was called Horse pulling, which nowadays is still carried out with bred horses who are trained to have high strength and low stamina. The National Tractor Pullers Association known as NTPA is the national power pulling sanctioning body in U.S.A. This association was created by the need of unifying the classes and rules of this motor sport.
