The Skid Loader

Nowadays you might have seen the skid loader around a landscaping project or at a commercial construction site. What is a skid loader?. Known as skid steer loader is an engine powered machine that consist of a small rigid frame. This loader has lift arms used to attach a large variety of attachments or labor saving tools.

The skid loader is available with tracks or with four wheel drive. The loader that comes with the four wheel drive is left side drive independent of the right side drive wheels. The advantage of having each side independent of the other is that it allows wheel speed and direction of the rotation of the wheels to determine the direction of this vehicle. The skid steer loader is capable of zero radius turning, which makes them maneuverable and valuable for applications, which required an agile and compact loader. This loader is turned by generating deferential speed at the opposite sides of the loader. The steer loader is sometimes used as an excavator by the process of digging a hole from the inside. It uses a useful method for digging under a structure where then overhead clearance doesn't allow the boom of a large excavator. John Deere loaders is one of the famous company's that makes this type of vehicles.

The first skid steer loader was invented on 1957 by Cyril and Louis Keller in the U.S state of Minnesota. The brothers had invented and built this loader to help all farmers to be able to mechanize the procedure of cleaning manure from turkeys in their barn.
