The Backhoe Loader

Nowadays the backhoe loader is used in most countries around the globe. What is a backhoe loader?. A back hoe loader also known loader backhoe or digger is a vehicle for heavy equipment that consists of a tractor fitted with a bucket or shovel on the front and it also has a back hoe on the back. In 1953 the first backhoe loader was invented in the United Kingdom by Joseph Cyril Bamford. Joseph Bamford was a British businessman and founder of the JCB company, which manufactures heavy plant. Bamford was born on June 21st of 1916 and died on March 1st of 2001. He invented this loader by equipping a farm tractor with a front mounted loading bucket and a backhoe. Back hoe loaders usually don't have a Power take off (PTO) and they are generally no used for towing. When the backhoe is permanently attached to the machine it has a seat that enables the operator to move to the rear in order to face the hoe controls. The backhoe attachments that are removable they always have a separate seat.

In the United States this vehicle is referred as "Backhoes". In Ireland and Britain they are referred as "JCBs". In 1970 a company by the name of Hy Dynamic was the first to developed a four wheel drive system for their backhoe loaders. This invention provided the loaders to go over the majority of terrains with less difficulty.

The back hoe loader is often classified as part of construction machines.
