BTI Greensburg is devoted to environmental innovation and technology that makes our store a model for John Deere dealers around the country. Greensburg is the first building of its kind to achieve LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Two wind turbines provide electricity to the retail section and machine shop, where technicians recycle waste oil to heat the building in the winter. The 28,500 square foot store has lowered its energy usage by 42% and its water usage by 50%.
Our dealership has not always been what you see today. In May 2007, one of the largest tornadoes on record wiped out the town of Greensburg, including our store. The morning after the storm, dozens of family and friends met to help salvage what we could from the building. At the time, President George W. Bush visited BTI and toured the devastation, declaring it a national disaster area.
Like the rest of Greensburg, we vowed to rebuild after the tornado that killed 12 of our neighbors. We celebrated the grand opening of our new store in May 2009. As always, our family is dedicated to providing superior service to our customers. Now, our investment in green technology also ensures we offer that service in the most efficient and economic way possible.
